Leaning towards leadership
I started off in an internship at Signify, and when that was extended, I participated in the LEAN Advanced Training, becoming LEAN Advanced certified. As a part of the certification process, I worked on streamlining processes within a team of Supply Chain Account Managers by establishing and maintaining a reporting dashboard used in weekly war room meetings. I also implemented Weekly Management Boards, Standard Work procedures, and Root Cause analysis. This experience helped me get my current position as a Dispute Resolver, a role where the LEAN Advanced certification is essential. I am currently pursuing my LEAN Expert certification and look forward to supporting Signify’s transition towards Circular business models through continuous improvements.

Turning challenges into opportunities
Since my team was recently created, it faced many challenges. I saw these challenges as opportunities for me to take initiative and provide the team with a structured problem-solving approach. My LEAN knowledge combined with the team’s expertise in dispute resolution has created a symbiotic learning experience for everyone involved.
Key advice: Learn and connect
People should embrace any available training that piques their interest and connect with the Signify community through employee connection point groups. I joined the company during the pandemic, so it was difficult for me to meet employees outside of my team. I used the trainings and connections points as opportunities to grow my global network while enhancing my professional development. My advice to anyone interested in a career change is to trust your intuition and pursue your passion.
